Hindsight. That wonderful thing.

Someone asked me this week if there’s anything I would go back and do differently if I could. I’ve always answered this in relation to some problems we had with our initial web designers, and how I would be much more thorough with my due diligence of our service providers, but this week I looked at it differently. The truth is, I wish I’d given more packs away!

I know it sounds strange – I’m running a business, so I’m trying to make money right? However I think getting them out into the market so that as many people as possible see them is more important.  Who Loves Me? flash cards are unique and it can sometimes be difficult for people to visualise them and understand quite how high quality they are, so getting them into people’s hands, even if they’re looking at someone else’s pack, is a great benefit (to see them is to love them I’m told! And not because I bribed the person who said that......)

We launched 12 months ago, a very soft launch to ease ourselves into the market, selling mainly to friends and family.  We were ironing out the few last teething problems at the time, but we were so excited and desperately keen to launch, so it seemed the most sensible way of doing it. In hindsight, we should have just given those away and then done a really high impact launch, all singing and all dancing, a couple of months later. Ahhhhh, hindsight.  You are a truly wonderful thing!

I’m still learning how to run a business and ask me again in another years time and I may have another different answer for you, but currently that’s what I’d change if I could. I hope that helps some of you peeps starting your own business, and for you experienced business owners out there, please let me know if you think differently. I’m always ready to learn!
